BEN FARLEIGH AND DANIEL BANIN: TOGETHER. ALONE.

While populated by shadows, solitary figures and lone faces, the works are not forlorn. Bright blue skies, vivid street art and a wry sense of humour remind us that joy and beauty can be found in the overlooked corners of the city.

Farleigh’s thoughtful-face motif, first graffitied onto abandoned mattresses across the city, recurs in his paintings and sculptures, while Banin depicts lone figures within urban landscapes, alongside street corners emptied of people altogether.

Banin’s oil paintings draw the viewer into an intimate exchange, as Farleigh’s paintings and sculptures lend a charged and playful physicality to the exhibition.
